With accession to the European Union, which sought political and economic integration, came the Bologna Process and unified ways to access legal practice in European countries. In addition, there are complaints from the legal profession in Spain (many lawyers lobby the government). For all this, the access system has been modified. Since 1972, the National Hispanic Bar Association has been a force for positive change in the legal profession and the nation. Our important work and mission is accomplished through partnerships and collaborations with U.S. corporations, law firms of all sizes, other not-for-profit organizations and our dedicated members. However, this situation led to an imbalance in the system of access to the profession of lawyer between countries, as there were countries where one could practice law directly with a single law degree (Spain), while in others a postgraduate diploma and in others a postgraduate diploma and a State examination were required. This unbalanced situation brought many foreign citizens, in whose countries a postgraduate and state examination was required, to Spain and, thanks to this legal vacuum, they entered legal practice without a postgraduate or state examination. From 2011 to 2014, the mandatory requirements for admission to the Bar and admission to the Bar in Spain are: Bachelor of Law, Master of Legal Practice, Legal Internship and Bar Examination.
